Either because it's cool or there's a fun memory attached to it?
I thought if this today as I was looking at a book I was sold in Colombia. It was sold to me by a librarian in the town where Gabriel García Márquez was born (the only claim to fame if this town) and has a giant "sale prohibited" stamp on the inside cover. I'm pretty sure it was not for sale and the librarian just sold me a library book and pocketed the cash. I love the memory of finding my way there though and being the only tourist in town.
