I have a 10 night trip to europe I am planning for early April and I’m seeking advice on where to go. My main goal is to go to Berlin, but I would like to see some other places too. Since my trip is somewhat short, I don’t wanna spend too much time in airports or on trains moving around. Germany looks pretty big and it seems like transit times to and from Berlin can be long (upwards of 3 hours).
Currently I have a plane ticket from LA to Paris and that’s it. I’ve been to Paris twice before, it’s a great city and I wanted to spend 2 nights there anyway (I know I could spend 2 weeks there, but I’ve seen a lot of the major sites before). I can use airline miles to get a cheap ticket to Hamburg, and then take the train to Berlin which seems like a good plan.
Can I squeeze another city into this trip?
How long should I spend in Berlin or Hamburg?
Would it be cool to take a train from Berlin to Cologne or Munich? Or am I gonna feel like I wasted a day sitting on the train?
I’m cool with spending extra days in Berlin or Paris if that’s the best use of my time.
