Last night, on Cable, I was watching some episodes of one of the very first anthology-style TV shows (from the mid-'70s), the award-winning Police Story. It was an episode called "The Cutting Edge," and it starred Sylvester Stallone, in a role he played while he was writing the script for Rocky, which came out the very next year.
Check out his character's introduction (which I can't help but feel was either his own addition to the show's script, or what convinced him to go with "Rocky" as his magnificent palooka's name):
