Hiya folks,
Looking for some advice for our upcoming trip to Italy in September. We fly in and out of Milan, so figured do some sort of loop in that area.
Our interests are culture, food, wine, 420. We like to walk around the city, hikes, exploring rather than museum's & galleries and so forth. We value more so eating something local rather than going in to the cathedral or looking at a painting. We value hiking up a mountain for a viewpoint, having some wine at a beautiful spot etc etc.
With that in mind, this is something we thought of.
-
Milan > Como arrive in to Milan in the late afternoon/early evening but go straight to Como. Spend the evening in Como as I've heard there might not be transport to go to our accommodation (which we haven't booked as yet) Leave in the morning to go to Menaggio. Alternatively, could spend the evening in Milan and go directly to Lake Como the next day
-
Menaggio & surrounds (2 days)
-
Parma (2 days)
-
Bologna (2 days)
-
Cinque terre (3-4 days) {wanted to be more flexible here but it seems one needs to have accommodation booked}
-
Genova (2 days)
-
Milan (2 days) {would cut this down if we were to already spend time in Milan at the start of the trip}
Initially, was thinking of Florence and also Modena but didn't want to pack too much in.
Any suggestions and thoughts on the above?
Thanking you all!
