Schengen Visa for students - any tips?

I'm a university student applying for a Schengen tourist visa. There's some parts of the requirements I'm worried about, and would like the advice of experienced travelers:

1. How do I prove my financial means as an unemployed student? I have enough cash to travel. But I don't have a full-time job or a huge bank account.
2. What are good "proofs of enrollment?"
3. Who can write a "no objection letter?" Does the letter-writer need to know my finances?
