Hey! I’m super new to this so please go easy on me if the way I’m going about this is wonky.
I’m a 26 year old Black male who has never had the chance to travel abroad until recently. I’ve never been outside of the country (United States), but my new job’s salary has granted me the opportunity to begin doing so (Once the world opens up a little more, of course).
I recently applied for my passport, I hope to get it sometime early next year and I'm trying to do all of the research I can about places to visit. I’m super stoked on that.
But my question is in regards to how someone who’s Black and from United States is treated abroad. I’ve heard my fair share of horror stories from Black bloggers/vlogers and friends of mine and I want to see if the picture they’re painting for me is either accurate or exaggerated. I’d like to visit specific places, but I’m not sure it’s worth it from the few credible stories I can find online.
Are the things I've seen online from some Black bloggers' negative experiences traveling abroad more likely to be true across the board for people like me?
