So I have dual citizenship with the United States and Spain. Earlier this year I was in Spain for about a month and when I entered the country, I entered using my Spanish passport however, when I left, I used my American one. I remember the immigration officer being confused but he said it was no big deal however, when I got back home to the U.S I found out that leaving a country with a different passport isn’t such a great idea. It was my first time traveling internationally using two passports so I wasn’t sure how entry and exit between countries worked but I was just curious if there can be any penalties for doing such a thing as when I google stuff about this I get mixed results
