I would like to take my mother on a trip to France before she retires this Christmas. Paris and Strasbourg (Christmas markets) are definitely on the list, but I'm having trouble planning an itinerary. Lots of folks suggest "walking around Paris", but my mom has developed knee problems and cannot walk for long periods of time. Do y'all have any recommendations for places which don't involve too much walking? Heck, I'll even take warnings about the most common places to visit. Example: not Versaille Gardens. It seems that involves long distances and big crowds.
Length 10 days
Budget $3,500 including flights and hotel. Mom doesn't like hostels or Airbnbs.
Climate Arriving mid-December, leaving around Christmas day.
Interests: Parks, historical buildings, accessible outdoor sights (bike accessible, no hikes), food (street food to everyday restaurants, nothing fancy)
Please let me know if I can provide more info. Thanks!
