I’m looking to take a gap year between high school and college. I graduate in June, and am just looking for a break. I’ve been looking at a lot of volunteer problems like Workaway, but I’m graduating a year early so I’ll only be 17 and most things require you to be 18 or with a legal guardian. I’m looking for other options (because I won’t be 18 nor will a parent be with me) that are affordable and I am eligible for. Affordable is key because I’ve only been working part time for about a year and don’t have a ton saved up (plus I don’t want to just blow away all my money in a year). I’m really looking for some language learning opportunities and cultural emersion. Ideally I’d be with a host family and maybe working somewhere (as a waitress or busser perhaps?). Any ideas?
