I feel like a lot of people have Burning Man, Coachella and other big music festivals on their radars, but I'm hoping to experience the weird annual events in your backyard or those that you've traveled for and loved: I'm thinking festivals like Mothman Days or Zozorba. Those with a cult-like reverence for specific foods like Whiting Indiana's Pierogi Fest. Or zany community competitions like Baltimore's Kinetic Sculpture Race or Chiditarod.
Overall, they don't take themselves too seriously, there's probably beer tent or two, and it's just a fun glimpse into a super specific community. Thoughts?
