Marrakech Travel Question

Couple quick questions for my fellow travelers.

I am visiting Morocco for a few days and planning to fly out on 5/3 or 5/4. I believe Eid Al Fitr takes place during these dates:

1. Is a 45 minute Madrid layover enough from Marrakech to JFK (NYC USA)? No checked bags, only a carry-on.
2. Will a lot of tourist attractions or being in the city be hectic during this time?
