I entered Rome for the first time yesterday, and I was registered for the EES system. I scanned my passport, entered the booth, scanned my fingerprints, then I think it may have tried taking a picture of me with a note at the bottom saying “0 days remaining”. However, I never even went outside the US. But when I asked the lady bringing people in she said it’s fine and made me keep going. Did anyone have this issue? If so how did that impact you exiting or re-entering the Schengen area?? I mean the lady working it said it’s fine but I was told to keep going through, so I don’t know if I’m paranoid or not. I’ll be exiting in Zurich in a few weeks, so I just wanted to know if this will hinder my travels or not later down the line. Also has anyone experienced this before? Thank you!!!

Hi! My friend and I are visiting Edinburgh in August we are staying for a week, do you have any budgetfriendly places to stay:) open for Airbnb, hostel, and or hotel!
So I made a mistake and didn’t realize my driver’s license expires the same day I leave for a trip to Italy. I already renewed it online successfully, so I have the printed temporary license from the DMV. I was also able to get my international driving permit using the temporary license.
But now I’m realizing many Italian rental car agencies may not accept a paper license — which feels kind of crazy when I have:
ISO HELP:
Does anyone have advice navigating this situation?
MOST IMPORTANTLY:
Has anyone successfully rented a car in Italy with a temporary paper license? If so, which rental car agency did you use?

My wife and 3 kids (9,6,4) are flirting with the idea of a thanksgiving week trip. This will be the first long haul flight for the kids, so preferably not Asia to start. Looking for ideas elsewhere that may be a delight during that time of year. Traveling from the eastern US. We frequent Spain a lot but looking to maybe change it up, keeping in mind the kids as well.

My friends and i are planning a graduation trip and are booking a vacation home through booking.com. We are all 18 and the place we book has the minimum required age for check in set at 18. The issue is that none of us have a credit card in our name. Will that cause issues later on if we book using a parents credit card and even bring it on the trip as proof. We do have debit cards in our name so would that be a better alternative?

Going to South of Portugal next November with our baby.
We are landing in Lisbon and staying there for 3 fulls days (5 total but 1st and last aren't full). Then, renting a car for Lagos for 3 fulls days (still 5 days but 1st and last day aren't full)
We are wondering if we add 1 one day for Lisbon and cut 1 day in Lagos. What do you think? Our pace might be slower with the baby so wondering if staying another full day in Lisbon is beneficial.
After Lagos, we are driving to Seville than coming to Faro than Lisbon.

Was on a flight yesterday sitting in the aisle seat next to this girl. I’m an overweight guy so it takes me a second to get up and move out of the way.
When she asked to get through I took a bit too long getting up because I was half asleep and tangled up with my headphones and stuff.
Before I could even fully stand up she basically started climbing over me instead of waiting another second.
I leaned back as much as I could to give her space but she still slowly squeezed past and ended up pushing her ass right into my face while getting by.
Honestly caught me off guard. Did I handle it wrong?

Hi everyone,
My family and I (4 adults) are planning to spend 2 nights in Cameron Highlands and we’re trying to decide the best area and accommodation to stay in.
We’re looking for something comfortable, clean, and preferably peaceful with nice weather/views. We’ll probably visit tea plantations, strawberry farms, local markets, and do some light sightseeing. Having good food nearby would also be a plus.
Would you recommend staying in Brinchang, Tanah Rata, Kea Farm, or somewhere else?

This is a stupid question, but it's something I've never thought about doing before in all my travels.
So, I'm on a trip right now where I'll be picking up a rental car at my destination, but I might actually want to hang out at the airport for a little bit landside. (To await and have dinner with a friend who's aircrew) Is there any reason I shouldn't go through all the motions to pickup my rental car, get the key, lock my luggage in it, leave it in the rental car pickup area, and return to the terminal? If it's not a good idea I'll just drive it into short term terminal parking and pay that, but thought I'd pose the question.
Hey everyone! My partner and I (both 30, from Argentina) are planning a beach vacation and can't make up our minds. We love warm, clear water beaches (Caribbean or Brazil-style), good food, great service, and a relaxed vibe. Not looking for a party destination, just a proper chill trip.
Our budget: ~$4,500 USD for two people, flights included. We're based in Argentina, so international flights take a good chunk of that.
The options we're considering:
We're also open to other destinations if you think the budget allows for something even better. Greece, Southeast Asia, Croatia hit us with your suggestions!
Thanks in advance
Hello everyone, I have a question about 3 day Italy Trenitalia Pass. I am planning to go to Bologna from Genova. As I saw tickets are not available in Lombardia region. If I buy 3 day ticket and also buy the Lombardia region extra like Tortona (or Voghera, I don’t know will they accept Voghera because it’s at the bound) to Castel S. Giovanni will that be okay? Any experiences on this? I also plan going back at the same day, for that I will buy Piacenza to Voghera (or Tortona) like the same way passing in Lombardia, will this okay? Any suggestions are okay for
So I purchased a flight about 2 hours ago without reading any of the reviews. I am now nervous. They said that I will receive the ticket within 24 hours. Has anybody had a good experience with them? Thanks in advance.

I plan on travelling to a country and staying for the whole 3 month that the visa allows and would like to have the option to pick which country I go to next or extend my visa in said country.
I’m sure you guys all know that most countries need proof of an onward flight leaving the country, and that’s my exact problem because it strips me of the freedom to choose later.
I’ve heard of onwardflights.com and I’m not too sure if I should try that because I’ve heard some people have horror stories at immigration.
I’m not an American so fully refundable flights come with a fee that gives you the right to cancel-> get refund. It’s usually a couple hundred extra.
What should I do?

I will be going for total 16 days
I will be staying in Beijing from October 17 to 21, Chengdu from October 21 to 23, Chongqing from October 23 to 26, Furong Town from October 26 to 27, Zhangjiajie from October 27 to 30, and Shanghai from October 30 to November 2.
Any addition or removal, also more days in Chengdu or Chongqing? Are 3 full days and 1 half day in Beijing enough?

Howdy!
Solo female traveler. I'm heading to Mongolia for the second time, but first time solo. I've only ever been through Istanbul airport to get there, so I'm unclear on how Hong Kong does things. Obviously it's an airport like any other, but I have some other caveats.
I have a 21 hour layover, I'll land at sometime around 7-8-9, and then take off the next day at 6pm.
I've never had a layover longer than 4 hours.
My plan is to go get a female only hostel bed, sleep until 7am their time, go out for some street photography at Goldfish street and the Bird market. Then head back to the airport around 1-3.
Is that enough time?? I'm scared I'm gonna miss the plane. haha.

Hey guys! Hope you're well
Solo traveler here, and am trying to pick out 2 cities in the US, between late July/ early August, that would be quite enjoyable to visit and do lots in! (Within 4 days)
So far, I've chosen New York (NYC) and California (still deciding on the city!)
But nothing is set in stone and I'm seeing lots of positive things about Chicago - but wondering whether I should replace that with New York City as I have heard they can be quite similar
THINGS TO NOTE:
Added bonus points for diversity! But really not picky at all - open to suggestions!!!
Thank you, and have a good one!
Cheers x

Hey guys,
I’ve been seeing a lot of mixed things online about India not being safe for tourists, so I’m kinda curious what it’s actually like.
Has anyone here traveled to India? How was it honestly?
Did you face any unsafe or uncomfortable situations?
Hello! My family is planning a trip for early September of this year. We’re from Arizona so we’re used to warmer weather. I’m looking at moving to London and want to visit The London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins while I’m there. We’re going to the Making of Harry Potter tour which my mom and I have seen before and both loved it but haven’t decided on a company to book with. We’d like to book a tour as well to see some sights for my dad as well as a Thames River cruise and the London Eye. Any restaurants, tour companies, tips, or things you might recommend as well would be helpful. We’re staying at The Queen’s Gate Hotel in Kensington for five days which my mom and I stayed at before. My mom and I also had tea at Fortnum and Mason and went shopping at Piccadilly Circus. I’m huge into fashion as well as British history. My dad isn’t terribly interested in England but he does like stuff on World War II. I’d love to know what the weather might be like, what to wear, what not to wear (also to not stick out like sore thumbs), behavior to avoid to cause us not to stick out like sore thumbs or be targeted by pickpockets, travel advice, hidden gems, or suggestions on things we might like. I really love to experience the culture when I stay somewhere. Thank you so much!

My fiancé and I are trying to decide where to have our post-wedding trip. We're getting married in August and honeymooning in mid/late September. We've had some general ideas (Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan, New Zealand), but also thought to ask around to see what others recommend. My fiancé has a British passport, I have a U.S. passport; we're both historically knowledgable. In addition to English, fiancé speaks German, I speak French.
Here are our confines:
-No European locations (I used to be a Europe-based travel writer!)
-Dietary restrictions: I've been on the pescatarian / vegetarian spectrum for the last 20 years. Fiancé is vegan but can move to vegetarian while traveling. Both of us want to be immersed in culture, but red meat and chicken is a hard no. That being said, we LOVE to eat, so we'd love to go somewhere where we can explore the native cuisine without a ton of substitutions or fuss.
-Budget: We've done a lot of traveling, which usually involves packed itineraries and sacrifices in comfort, but for a trip of this nature, we want a level of "vacation" that our travel usually doesn't involve. As such, we'd like to stay at 4-5 star hotels, be able to access comfortable transportation, and have some nice meals out. The exact dollar amount of our budget is unclear (waiting on wedding gifts and all that), but probably somewhere in the $5-7k range.
-Cultural aspects: we are both pretty serious about art, design, architecture, music. While the trip will be more relaxed than most, we both actively want to learn a lot. We're both academics with strong history knowledge, and really want to engage with the culture and people of the places we visit. We want to go somewhere with a lot of culture, but we don't want to spend a ton of time in a chaotic urban center.
-Environment: Waterfront would be ideal (lake, ocean, river, etc.). Ultra-hot is a no-go for me. We can deal with cold. We love beautiful nature, but aren't super gung-ho about backpacking or rock climbing or anything like that.
Any recommendations? Some of my favorite places I've been have been Croatia, Scotland, maritime Canada, French Riviera.
Our current ideas include Japan, Taiwan, New Zealand, Vietnam, Brazil. Open to hearing about anywhere! And open to visiting 2-4 locations in one trip!
Hey everyone!
My wife and I are finishing up our trip on Gili T this Sunday and need to get back to the airport (DPS). We’re looking at a few ferry options but the timing is making me a bit nervous since we have a flight to catch.
We’ve narrowed it down to these three arrival options:
Padang Bai @ 10:30 AM (Eka Jaya)
Padang Bai @ 11:00 AM (Wijaya Buyuk)
Serangan @ 11:50 AM (Wijaya Buyuk)
The big questions:
- Which one actually gets us to the airport sooner? I know Serangan is geographically closer to Kuta/DPS, but the boat ride is longer. On the flip side, I've heard the drive from Padang Bai can be a nightmare.
- How’s the road traffic on a Sunday? Is it usually jammed with people heading back from the coast, or is it manageable?
- Arrival Time Confusion: On FerryScanner, Wijaya Buyuk says one time, but their official website lists the arrival as 30 minutes later. Does anyone know why? Is that just "buffer time" for unloading luggage, or is the boat just slower than advertised?
I'd love some "boots on the ground" advice.
Thanks in advance for the help!
Hi Y'all!
My father in law passed away suddenly last week. Me, my wife, and my sister in law are looking into booking a trip for my mother in law somewhere fun and distracting for this Christmas to help her through the first Christmas without her husband. She's a huge anglophile and loves the UK, but she took a couples trip with him to the UK a few years ago and we're thinking that would be too fresh and too much of a grief reminder. So, as a family, we're all professionals in our own careers in healthcare and are currently without kids. So we're thinking $3000 per person and we as the daughters would pay for my mother in law. We're thinking an all inclusive somewhere warm (as we live in Michigan and Oregon) but have no idea where to go.
As we want this to be the most fun, and distracting, for my mother in law, here is a bit about her. She's a retired teacher, and loves kids, but likes her own space, so maybe an adults only resort. Also, she's a big history nerd, so would love to be somewhere historical or that has great historical type places to visit. She's a huge foodie, and loves trying new things, so having great food around would be ideal. She's also an avid reader and loves nature.
TLDR: My father in law passed away recently and we're looking for reccomendations for a place to travel with all inclusives somewhere warm to take my mother in law this Christmas as a distraction/family centered trip of all adults. $3000pp is our budget and a week would be ideal!
Hi there, I’m off to Hong Kong and southern China this week and I’m keen to see contemporary art at public and dealer galleries. Please can you recommend names of galleries, or the parts of HK, Guangzhou and Shenzhen where there are clusters of galleries, for me to explore? Thank you! 🤩

I'm going to be getting to frankfurt may 12 and fly out from there may 20. I love old castles and mountain hiking during the day and techno and good beer in the evenings. not married to the Austria destination, have spent a lot of time in Swiss Alps, thinking of mixing it up in the eastern alps. Thanks in advance for any and all advice!
