8 days (to 10 days max) in Spain - Looking for Itinerary Advice!

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

All –

My wife and I are trying to plan a trip to Spain in late April as a sort of “babymoon,” and wanted to get some top-level opinions on what a good itinerary should be. Our plan is to have 8 days in Spain, however, if the itinerary options get significantly better at 10 days, we could look to push it to that length as a max.

We’re coming from the US (East Coast), so most affordable flight options seem to be going in and out of either Barcelona or Madrid.

However, we’d like to dedicate as much time as we can to the Andalusia region, as we’ve been reading amazing things about Seville, Granada, Malaga, etc.

With an 8 day trip (or 10 days max), what sort of order/length of stay per location would you recommend? We’re definitely looking for a more relaxed pace, so we don’t want to feel like we’re just hopping around the whole time.

Some other info that might help you give suggestions:

  • We’ve both never been to Spain
  • Good food and sights are our priorities for the trip
  • My wife will be 21 weeks pregnant at the start of the trip – hence the babymoon :). So she won’t be doing any drinking, and the heavy club/party scene will not be what we’re looking for. We’re normally very active (and want to still do some active stuff), but she’ll have to take it somewhat easy on the trip

In terms of being efficient with travel times once we’re in Spain, it seems like flying in and out of Madrid might be the simplest, so that we’re closer to the Andalusia region. On the other hand, I keep reading so many good things about Barcelona with many people recommending it over Madrid, but it would add travel time while within Spain.

Any suggestions to help us lock in a rough itinerary would be greatly appreciated!
