I'm planning a eurotrip this upcoming September. I booked an overnight direct Thursday flight through Iberia from Boston to Paris getting to the destination early Friday morning.
I got a notice of a flight change this morning where the flight now begins Friday night, a long layover in Barcelona, arriving in Paris now Saturday night putting my trip a day and a half behind.
My tickets are non-refundable, but what Iberia has changed the tickets to aren't even remotely in the ballpark of what I signed up for. I understand a few hours delay, whatever. But a day and a half behind? I can't do that with all the hotels I've already booked.
I call Iberia and they tell me "sorry, no refunds" flat out, that's all they got for me. I'm just going to try again in the morning, but are there any provisions or consumer protection on what constitutes a significant change in a flight to give me some legal teeth? This seems like such a bait and switch to me. I don't want to go the route of a charge back, but damn I feel with this kinda bullshit Iberia is putting up I might have to explore this avenue.
Thanks in advance for all advice.
