Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have split.
The couple, who wed in June of 2004, confirmed to People magazine that they are ending their marriage.
“We have decided to end our marriage,” they said in a statement. “This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters ... It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”
The “American Idol” judge/pop icon and her singer husband have three-year-old twins together: Max and Emme. They did not elaborate on the reasons for the split.
Lopez, 41, and Anthony, 42, are longtime friends who dated in the ‘90s, then got back together following Anthony’s divorce from wife Dayanara Torres and Lopez’s high-profile break-up with then-fiance Ben Affleck.
Their partnership extended beyond romance; the pair co-starred in the 2006 film “El cantante,” and toured together in 2007. According to Us, they renewed their vows in 2008 and again in 2010. But apparently those renewals weren’t enough to keep the marriage together.
