Question about UK citizen driving from Seattle into Canada on ESTA

Hi, I am a UK citizen currently in Seattle on a tourist ESTA. I want to make a ‘spontaneous’ trip up to Canada by car. I know I don’t need an ETA, but would I have any complications getting through the border both ways?

i’m mainly concerned about getting back into the US, and don’t want to get stranded in Canada.
