ill be going from 1 may to 8 june
Thinking of going on a solo trip to one of these 2 cities. Flying from the UK. I do enjoy red wine but am unsure which of these would be the best pick. I'm vegetarian, but do eat some fish on occasions, & ideally don't just want to live on takeaway pizza for 4 nights! I suppose some nice nature nearby would be nice as a day trip too.
Bordeaux- looks very European/ French. lots of gothic buildings, churches/ cathedrals around. Seems to be fairly well connected. However, I don't think there's much to do in the city besides a bit of sightseeing in the main square & the cite du vin museum. I could be wrong though.
Bilbao- seems like it is more modern. The architecture is much different to bordeaux. The guggenheim museum is quite unique, scenery nearby looks cool & going to an Atletico Bilbao game would be fun.
which of these would u pick?

My boyfriend and I are going on vacation in Feb (1st week). I have a very strong feeling he plans on proposing on this vacation. It will also be during our Anniversary. Ive always imagined getting my rock in front of that giant rock in St Lucia. But the whole trip is looking more expensive than we originally thought.
He asked me to give other destination options. But Im not finding any beautiful destinations that match the idea in my head with a unique backdrop.
Does anyone have any other location suggestions that are out of the box and memorable to get proposed in front of? I’ll leave my boyfriend the easter egg

Hello, what’s the best time of year to go that’s not to hot or rainy also any suggestion on tour conpanies?
My family (2 adults, 1 toddler) will be traveling to Richmond, VA, USA for Thanksgiving and need accommodations for a couple nights. We prefer to stay somewhere with a kitchen so we can do some of our own cooking. Plus our little one will not sleep if he's in the same room with us. We have historically used Airbnb because it offers the most options for what we need, but we all know there are lots of issues with Airbnb so I am hoping for an alternative. I have seen a few suggestions like Fairbnb and Ecobnb, but they don't seem to be available where we are traveling. Any other suggestions?

I am active and fit - just did 260 miles in a month in Europe. I am looking for a tour company that isn't bare bones but also not into Road Scholar - would much rather hike, kayak, etc., than listen to lectures tho I don't mind museums/cooking class/ cultural experiences along the way.
I had a good experience with Sierra Club but they don't go to Colombia. Sobek was good but pretty pricey. I was looking at G adventures and a few other companies. I also don't want to be the granny in the group...any recommendations? Thx

Flying into PHX on Southwest, then driving south down towards Tucson and staying at Loews Ventana Canyon for 1-night. Ending the trip at Westin Tempe for the final night. I need help picking a hotel, there are three options that I am currently considering right now.
I need a hotel that can serve me 2-nights in either Sedona or Flagstaff, and the purpose of it is to visit Petrified Forest National Park and Sedona. I'm curious to see whether staying in Sedona all together is better versus dividing the trip up in Flagstaff.
Looking for a nice, clean hotel, between the premium and luxury scale for 2-nights. The three hotels and the rooms I've so far have seen (in my budget) are these ones:
Which one to pick, any advice truly appreciated :)!

Hello there,
I am planning a trip to Egypt, and came across a tour that looked interesting, but I cannot be sure if the price is fair. It is 3400$ for 2 people, including:
+ Return flights
+ Breakfast, 5 lunches, 6 dinners
+ Guide
Day 1:
Arrival in Cairo at night
Day 2:
Cairo City Centre
Day 3:
Giza Pyramids, Sphinx
Day 4:
Flight to Aswan (included)
Aswan High Dam, a trip in Aswan
Day 5:
Cruise to Abu Simbel, Kom Ombo
Day 6:
Cruise to Luxor
Edfu
Day 7:
Hurghada
Day 8:
Hurghada
Day 9:
Return back
Is this price fair for all this? I am travelling with my father (60yo), so we are not very interested in budget travel, but would love a culturally satisfying tour, possibly seeing and learning about Biblical places and history. I am trying to see if we can plan a cheaper/better tour, since I'd also like to see Alexandria, and am not very much interested in Hurghada (my father has been there before).
For reference, return tickets from our country cost $200 per person.
Even if we don't attend this tour, we will still get a guide, but I cannot make sure whether we will find one in our native language (Turkish).
Thanks to all for any advice!

Me and three of my high school friends have agreed to take a 3-4 month trip to the US in our gap years.
We plan to rent a car and travel across different states experiencing the country in all its facets.
Our budget is about 15k USD per person.
It’s meant to be a mix of vacation and touristing, and actually experience living in the states.
What general, practical and legal knowledge should we keep in mind while planning the trip?
Also, suggestions for which states to visit. We have some of the obvious ones locked down (NY, florida, texas, california), but we really want to experience as much of the different cultures as possible. The goal is around 10 states total.
Any other recommendations for different parks, attractions, natural beauty sites, cities, food spots or anything else to experience is also more than welcome.
Lastly, how important is it to be 21? We stand to be 20 all of us at the time we want to go, but we are considering delaying it one year because we cant legally drink or buy marijuana. Is the nightlife, drinking culture and weed a BIG part of the american experience? It would mean for us another year of working and delaying uni even more, but if its worth it, we’ll take that sacrifice.
We are planning a five night food/culture focused trip leaving the kids at home. We both work in the restaurant/hospitality business and are looking to get a great dose of food, drink and art. Our short list for this trip was New Orleans or Montreal. Our plan had been to go to New Orleans but unexpectedly we have to be in a wedding up in Hudson Valley the weekend before we go and we realize that we’ll be 3/4 of the way to Montreal if we just drive from there…
Obviously, New Orleans is going to win for Weather that time of year. But, because of our work schedules, we are always relegated to travel between the months of November and April - so we are sort of accepting that certain places that we choose to go to are going to be during not optimal weather because otherwise we’ll never get to go there.
Would love to know any feelings about one or both of these cities? Again, we’re really in it for food, art, design and just an adult feeling trip.
Hi! We have a connecting flight to Tanzania via Abu Dhabi at the end of the month but I am worried about the hostilities in the middle east. I am also an anxious flyer. Should I be worried? Any advice would be welcome. Thanks!

Hi! I’m spending ~3.5 days in Slovenia. I have a day trip to Lake Bled/LakeBohinj/Savica waterfall booked, planning for 1.5 days in the city. I’m trying to decide what to do for the last day. I’m between the cave/Predjama Castle & Piran day trip, or another nature day trip to Soca/Kranjska Gora.
Would appreciate any input on which of those tours to do, and if anyone has strong opinions about what I’ve already decided. I do not have a car, so I’m using tour groups. Thank you!

Hi! I have a 17 hour layover in Bogota. I arrive 8pm and my flight the next day is 2pm. I was thinknig of booking a hotel overnight near the airport, but would I have enough time to explore or see something in Bogota knowing that my flight the next day is 2pm?
I heard traffic in Bogota can be notoriously bad, and I'm worried about missing my flight. The flight will all be in a single ticket, so I won't need to check out my luggage if it helps.
Hoping to get some advice on this please!
Myself, my partner, and 4 friends have been on Holiday in spain. We were due to fly back to the UK but Barcelona airport shut down due to weather 2 hours before our flight.
We were left to find emergency accommodation for 2 nights as Ryanair were too busy to do it for us. Unfortunately they were not very clear on what "reasonable expenses" means.
The problem is that my and my gf booked together and the 4 friends booked together, so we have 2 bookings but doing the exact same activities e.c.t
We were looking at Hotels around the airport and in Barcelona. Because of the amount of people suddenly booking last minute hotels, there were very very few available. The ones that were available were €400+ per night per room (we would need 3 rooms)
At the last minute, we managed to find an Airbnb for just under €600. We booked it ASAP due to not wanting to lose it, but it would fall under the umbrella of "luxury" which Ryanair is funny with. We also had to take a €100 taxi to it due to the time of night.
I have paid for it all on my card to keep the payments simple for us. We will also need to be claiming for our food and basic necessities.
My question is, will ryanair kick up a fuss? Even though logically we have saved them easily €600+ by booking together in a villa rather than separate hotels at €400+.
Another question would be how does it work with me paying for 6 but only 2 being on my booking?
TIA. I wonder if this will even flag up for ryanair given the amount of claims they will be having

A family member is getting married in the Netherlands next July.
Me and my wife would like to spend a week or a little bit more on vacation in Europe before the wedding. If everything goes according to plan, she could be pretty pregnant during the trip.
Recommendations on places where we could enjoy nice views, good food and some easy hiking? We are more nature people than city people.
Thanks!

Hi! I (30F) will be traveling in Egypt in May 2027 and hoping to get some recommendations. I plan to spend the first part of my trip on a G Adventures tour, but will end with 4 days solo in Cairo due to cheap flights. I want to visit Alexandria and possibly El Fayoum on day trips and am looking at booking at Villa Layla Hostel or Dahab Hostel due to their tour desks.
This will be my first trip on the African continent, but I've traveled in China, Australia, across Europe, Peru, across the United States solo and am still a bit intimidated by Cairo.
