Flight delay due to crew issue - airline denying expenses claims

Hoping someone can tell me if this is worth pursuing or if I'm wrong!

Sun Country flight (LAS to MSP) was delayed by 12 hours (due to crew issues they told us). It would have had us arriving at our destination at 2AM instead of 2PM which isn't ideal with little kids. They sent $100 travel voucher and $30 meal voucher un-prompted (we didn't have to ask for these). We called and asked to be moved to a different flight and they told us the only option was the next morning. We accepted. We also asked about expenses incurred and they sent us a link to submit them. After returning I submitted expenses for 1 additional night at our hotel, 1 meal, and 1 extra day for airport car parking and they just responded denying everything saying it was our decision to change to this flight, not theirs...is this correct? Or is there something else I should try?

Appreciate any clarification anyone can share!
