My girlfriend and I will be doing a year long trip and are looking at spending 4 weeks exploring the Philippines in March 2027. We would like a mix of exploring, diving/snorkeling (we both have our open water padi), surfing and beaches. It would be nice to go to places that aren't too crowded, or we are fine to go to popular places that are worth it or have less crowded areas to stay in (for example Boracay - it will of course be busy but is it worth it?).
As of now now we have looked at the places below. We aren't planning on going to all of these, they are just the places we have found. Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
In no particular order:
- El nido
- Coron
- Palawan
- Malapascua
- Boracay
- Moalboal
- Siquijor
- Siargao
- Romblon islands
- Bohol
- Donsol (mainly wondering how ethical the whale shark activities really are here)
