**First time visiting Croatia & Montenegro — does our 8-night itinerary make sense? Any advice welcome!**
My friend and I are heading to the Adriatic in August and would love some feedback on our plan. We're flying into Split, renting a car, and doing a loop through Dubrovnik and Kotor before ending back in Split. Here's the rough breakdown:
- **Night 1:** Arrive Split (really travel day - only can grab dinner)
- **Nights 2-4:** Dubrovnik (3 nights)
- **Nights 5-6:** Kotor, Montenegro (2 nights)
- **Nights 7-8:** Drive back to Split with coastal stops (Pelješac, Makarska, Omiš), 2 nights back in Split
A few questions:
Is 3 nights in Dubrovnik the right call or is that too long / not enough?
Any must-stop towns on the drive back from Kotor to Split we shouldn't miss?
City recs - if you have any that aren't on the list - please let me know.
