I’m a U.S. citizen flying Condor from Frankfurt to Calgary on a separate ticket. I will arrive in Frankfurt at about 9:30 a.m. with a separate airline. My Condor flight departs at 12:25 p.m. I do not want to exit the security but stay at the airside (since I do not have checked bags). My main concern is whether Condor online check-in will issue a mobile/digital boarding pass to a U.S. passport holder traveling from FRA to YYC, or whether Condor normally requires an in-person passport/document check?
This matters because I will arrive in the Schengen A-gate area and need to pass Schengen exit passport control to reach the non-Schengen B gates. If no mobile boarding pass is issued, I am unsure if I am allowed to go through passport control.
Has anyone recently flown Condor from Frankfurt to Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, or another Canadian destination using a U.S. passport?
Specifically:
Did online check-in issue your mobile boarding pass?
Did the app say that a document check was required?
If no boarding pass was issued, where did you obtain it during an airside connection at FRA?
I’m especially interested in recent first-hand experiences. Big Thanks.
