Hi, fellow travelers. None of my friends and I can really coordinate traveling together because we all have separate lives and schedules, hence my solo traveling aspirations. I just wanted to pick anyone's brain on a good 'next place' to go solo. I am set to travel to Peru, totally solo without guides (except for two day-trip 'tours' but that hardly counts), in a few weeks and I'm super excited/nervous. Beyond this coming trip, I've not technically ever traveled solo, so I'm banking on this trip going well. I'd like to go ahead and get an idea of where my next adventure will be so I can research and start planning for something next year. It'd at least be nice to narrow it down to a country. My interests are not hyper-adventurous but also definitely not lazy (save 'lazy' for local beaches here in the States). I don't like hopping from one place to the next every two days; I prefer to absorb and appreciate local culture, nature, natural history, and everyday cuisine. Floating in my head are the following: Costa Rica (and really all of central America), Argentina, Chile, (and others in SA as well), Croatia, Greece, Iceland. To emphasize, I love birding, nature, people and their local food. Any thoughts/advice/tips for a solo American traveler? I am quiet and respectful and anxious... lol. Thanks for any guidance :)
TLDR: Any tips for my next (and at that point only my second!) solo destination for a 40m who loves nature, history, birds, and local cuisine? I did already post this in r/solotravel but figured I'd ask this group as well.
